3D Printing Technology

3D Printing Technology is amazing, in my opinion! There are so many wonderful benefits for lots of different people. For example, one of the most amazing things to me is, someone can get much needed transplants and will not have to wait for a donor. Even important structures can flourish all while being perfectly safe, such as the bridge we talked about in class! 3D Printing is a great description for what I believe to be the "good" parts of technology. I say this because it is clear to see the many positive benefits that it can offer, that shouldn't have much to do with hindering our society, but helping building it up in a number of ways. Teachers can use it in the classroom for just about any visual example, which would be a great integration into lessons of all types. I also think it's a great, fun way to get students engaged in the lesson and keep them more focused on their learning. Some issues/downsides, as mentioned in the academia article, are technical/networking issues, lack of proper teaching training on the technology, and the time it takes to complete some designs. Even so, I think the biggest issue to worry about here would definitely be if teachers do not properly learn how to utilize the technology, how can we expect the students to do so? As I mentioned in class, I believe that by integrating/offering workshops for teachers, students, parents, and other staff we can ensure that each student can reach an unlimited potential for what they can create using 3D Printing Technology.

  1. I do agree with how you believe having workshops for teachers, students, parents and other staff so that they can ensure that each student can reach the unlimited potential of the technology otherwise what would be the point? This 3D technology isn't something we should take lightly its a great invention for society so we should treat it caring hands.
