TPACK Reflection

TPACK Lesson Plan Questions 1.      How well the use of this technology may support your teaching strategies in this activity.    ·        My overall teaching strategy is to enhance student learning in a fun and interactive classroom. By using the technology that I chose, this makes it very easy to achieve. It is convenient and can create quick assignments that students can complete at home (if technology is available). It can also be beneficial, for me as a teacher, because it provides many ways for me to promote differential instruction/learning.  2.     How effectively the use of this technology may enhance students’ understanding of and learning from your particular content in this activity . ·        I think kinesthetic (interactive) activities can benefit students greatly.    The purpose of my activities was to enhance learning in a way that made it ...

3D Printing Technology

3D Printing Technology is amazing, in my opinion! There are so many wonderful benefits for lots of different people. For example, one of the most amazing things to me is, someone can get much needed transplants and will not have to wait for a donor. Even important structures can flourish all while being perfectly safe, such as the bridge we talked about in class! 3D Printing is a great description for what I believe to be the "good" parts of technology. I say this because it is clear to see the many positive benefits that it can offer, that shouldn't have much to do with hindering our society, but helping building it up in a number of ways. Teachers can use it in the classroom for just about any visual example, which would be a great integration into lessons of all types. I also think it's a great, fun way to get students engaged in the lesson and keep them more focused on their learning. Some issues/downsides, as mentioned in the academia article, are technical/netwo...

Articles Inquiries and Questions

TPACK-  Will seminars and workshops be available for teachers to get continuing education on evolving technologies?  If not, how will we keep up with the evolving technologies, not only as teachers, but as students, and parents. How do we as teachers, help students to learn how to use technologies the right way? If technology takes over schools, how can we make sure that students do not become too reliant on the technology they are using, thus hindering their learning? FIFTEEN- What will happen if technology begins taking over jobs? How will people make a living? As technology is being integrated more into classrooms, how will teaching change in years to come?  Will teaching be conducted solely through the computer (online classes) at a certain point While integrating technology is great, what if a student does not have internet, a computer, or some sort or technology available at home?  The Net Generation as Preservice Teachers- Are social net...

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is a great way to collaborate and connect with others, whether you are a teacher, a student, or even a parent. From a teacher's perspective, Google Classroom can be utilized by keeping students as up to date with assignments as possible, whether they are present at school or not. This can also be extremely helpful in reducing missed or late assignments from students, allowing more opportunities to complete assignments. Assignments for the students can be created in an easy, fast, and effective way, and grading becomes extremely easy. From a student's perspective, I think it is a great way to get engaged in the classroom, and I had a lot of fun today taking everyone's quizzes! I think that it would also keep my assignments in an organized way, and it will clearly map out assignments that I still need to complete, and I can look back at my grades. This can also be incredibly helpful for parents to keep track of their children's assignments, and how well t...

Technology Reflection

Whether we like it or not, technology is everywhere we turn. The advancement of technology has  brought great strides for our society in many ways (medically, educationally, socially). It has brought  opportunities for our society that we have only dreamed of until now. But I think the question for  many of us is, "Where do we draw the line with technology". While technology has allowed for the  advancement of our society in many ways, it has also severely impacted us in a negative way. For  instance, I see all too often situations in which people would rather devote their attention to their  cellphone rather than interacting with the people right in front of them. This is a major issue in my  opinion because we are losing valuable connections with people that can't be felt through a computer  or phone. Another major issue that I've noticed, especially in schools, is that cellphones remain to be  a major dis...
